Karen Sanders the owner of the local Edward Jones held a Chamber Mixer that was a major success. Karen show she has what it takes to succeed through hard work, determination and self promotion she had the largest mixer we have scene in years.  According to the Mojave desert news there where over 100 attendees at the Edward Jones event.  The California City Chamber would like to thank Karen and Edward Jones for all you do for this community and for making California City the home of your business!The Chamber of Commerce was also honored with the opportunity to welcome her into her new office building at 9036 California City Blvd Suite C with a formal ribbon cutting!Need investment advice call Karen at 760-373-3512 or visit her on the web and set an appointment today!

The speed limit on North Loop Blvd starting at California City Blvd and ending at Hacienda has been changed to 35MPH. The City of California City will also be installing stop signs at the intersection of North Loop Blvd and Poppy Blvd creating a 4 way stop there as well as installing stop signs at the intersection of Poppy Blvd and Rusche Blvd crating a 3 way stop there as well.  This change was implemented in an attempt to make the area safer for new student drivers attending the California City High School. Keep your eyes peeled only a few more days before school starts and we will have young drivers out and about on there way to and from school.

Thanks Community Volunteers

The California City Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who attended the Bi-annual city wide trash clean up.  We had an AMAZING group of volunteers who came out to make a difference in our community.  We had approximately 200 people out on Saturday.  Of those 200 people 93 came from California City High School.  We would also like to thank the Jooi Club from Hacienda, the LDS Church, the Screaming Eagles, the California City Republican Women, the 2009 California City Community Queens, and the family members who came in support of their children.  We had two families from Edwards AFB come out and participate in an effort to support their group in the clean up.The California City Chamber of Commerce  would also like to thank those businesses who donated water, raffle prizes and money for this event: ACE Hardware, Cactus Market, Lollies Donuts, Coldwell Banker, South East Kern Board of REALTORs, The Flower Shop, Mojave Desert News, Home Town Real Estate, Kim’s Hair Design, Strong Real Estate, The Pizza Factory, RE/MAX Clearview, the Green Tea Garden, Team Works Salon and Tanning, Edward Jones and Valley Wide Feed and Pets. We could not do this without you.Volunteers make a difference in communities.  California City is lucky to have such willing volunteers.  The California City Chamber of Commerce would like to invite all citizens to our next Bi-annual City Wide Trash Clean-up on October 3^rd.  Let’s work together as a community to increase the number of volunteers we have working to make our community all it can be.  Thank you again for all your hard work and commitment to our City and your Chamber of Commerc

The California City Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate Shani Fludderjohn as the 2009 reigning Miss California City. We look forward to seeing you go on to represent California City in the Miss Antelope Valley Pageant! Good luck and make us proud! 

April 25^th 2009 marked the crowning of a new Miss California City. The California City Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all 3 of the young ladies that participated Rebecca Wofford, Marlena Schafer and Shani Fledderjohn. Your participation and display of community spirit is an inspiration to the community. 

Last Saturday the California City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and mixer at Lollie’s Doughnuts and officially welcomed its news member to the community. We encourage everyone to go on down to Lollie’s and give there amazing doughnuts a try… you wont regret it!
